One Mr. Sanjay Kumar Jhunjhunwala, 9/1, Lower Rowdon Street, Calcutta-700020 through his 2 (two) Companies
namely (1) M/S. Surabhi Properties (P) Ltd., and (2) Tripti Properties (P) Ltd., both having their respective Regd. Offices
at 9/1, Lower Rowdon Street, Calcutta-20, purchased an two storied building situated at a land measuring 10 Kottahs 02 chittacks
38 sq. ft. at premises No. 53, Ramtanu Lahiri Sarani, (formerly 24A, Diomond Harbour Road, and originally plot No. 42 of Block
"C New Alipore), Calcutta-700053.
Fair market price of the said land and building will be much more that Rs.30,00,000/- (Rupees thirty lakhs)
but to avoid the proceedings under Section 269 of Income Tax Act, 1961, purchase was made in the name of aforesaid two private
limited companies and price and / or consideration against each instrument was shown below Rs.10,00,000/- (Rupees ten lakhs)
wioth intention to facilitate the purchaser, concealment of money actually paid against both instruments.
Therefore, necessary action shall be taken in the matter according to law.
